Today saw the launch of the seven-year report on the impact of the National Cancer Control Programme’s (NCCP) implementation of the 2006 National Cancer Strategy.

The reports states that an annual average of 345 cancers of the brain and central nervous system (including benign intracranial and intraspinal tumours) were diagnosed nationally 2009-2011 in Ireland. As this is a cancer report, non malignant brain tumours are not included in these calculations.
