Monday 21st October : Children’s Colouring Competition

Tuesday 22nd October : Webinar “Who cares for me? Challenging the carer to care for themselves too”
The free webinar takes place at 6.00pm.
Broadcaster and mental health advocate, Keith Walsh, is the special guest at a forthcoming webinar being organised by Brain Tumour Ireland that seeks to encourage carers of people with brain tumours to think about their own well-being, as well as that of their loved ones.
The webinar aims to explore how stress can manifest itself as compassion fatigue and burnout, and what we can do to prevent this with some helpful self-care tips and advice.

Wednesday 23rd October : Information Evening on Brain Tumour Research
Hosted by Trinity College Dublin, Brain Tumour Ireland are hosting an information evening to discuss ongoing advancements in brain tumour research in Ireland, followed by presentation of the Ronnie Fehily Medal.

6.15pm Welcome by Fiona Keegan, CEO of Brain Tumour Ireland.
6.20pm ‘Advancing treatments for brain tumour related epilepsy’ Prof. Mark Cunningham PhD, FTCD, Head of Discipline of Physiology.
6.45pm ‘Brain-Restore: Exploring the rehabilitation needs of people with brain tumours in Ireland’ Prof. Kathleen Bennett, Data Science Centre, School of Population Health, RCSI.
7.10pm ‘Brain tumour management and the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist’ Eloise Cowie, Neuro Oncology Nurse Manager.
7.35pm Followed by Presentation of The Ronnie Fehily Medal.

Thursday 24th October : Walk and Talk event followed by lunch
Brain Tumour Ireland are hosting a ‘Walk and Talk’ event on Thursday, 25th October.

Friday 25th October : Tunes for Tumours, Charity Music Night for Brain Tumour Ireland
Join Pamela Tully and other artists to raise money for Brain Tumour Ireland at The Hendrick, Smithfield.

Saturday 26th October : ‘Write your story’ with Saoirse Rafferty (running for 5 consecutive Saturdays, 26th October – 23rd November).
Main goal of the workshops: For family members/ carers of those living with a brain tumour, and bereaved family members, to develop a journaling habit and get comfortable writing on paper. This is to give a safe space on paper for participants to explore their own voice and feelings.
By the end of the five-weeks: Everyone will have written a scene for a piece of memoir or fiction.
In each workshop, Saoirse will provide visualisation meditations (short guided meditations to help people relax and tap into their creativity before journaling), she will also provide unique journaling templates personalised for each workshop.
