The 2025 Brain Tumour Ireland Awareness Week takes place from 20th to 26th October, with a special line-up of events. To coincide with the week, Brain Tumour Ireland has developed a guide for members of the public on identifying brain tumour symptoms in children and teenagers.
Monday 20th October : Webinar – Heads-Up | Supporting children with a brain tumour
The free webinar takes place at 6.00pm.
The online event for parents on supporting children with a brain tumour will feature
contributions from psychotherapist and author, Dr Joanna Fortune, on talking to a newly
diagnosed child and their siblings, and Dr Avril Carey, principal of the Beaumont Hospital
School, on navigating going back to school following treatment.

Children can also take part in fun activities throughout the week, such as our Awareness Week Bingo game that you can download and print off, and our downloadable and printable Colouring Book, specifically designed by Bex McNally.
Tuesday 21st October : Research Event – Co-creating better futures | Shaping life after childhood brain tumours
As part of the National PPI Festival and Brain Tumour Ireland’s Awareness week, RCSI are hosting a panel where people with lived experience, healthcare professionals and researchers will explore how they are working together to transform rehabilitation for children, young people, and families after a brain tumour diagnosis.
Hosted by author, broadcaster and comedian Colm O’Regan.

Brain Tumour Ireland are hosting a ‘Walk and Talk’ event on Thursday, 23rd October.

Are you — or do you know — a teen living with a brain tumour?
We are hosting a special event at Windmill Lane Recording Studios on 25th October at 2pm to launch our new online teen support group.
With a very special guest, this event is open to teens living with a brain tumour and their families, friends.
